Paper Grading Rubric

Papers are graded on the "7-Cs" scale which is based on seven parameters -- all beginning with the letter C.  The basic idea is that the attributes of a good paper should be....

• The Truth
  • Correctness
    • Proper syntax
    • Technical correctness
    • Whether the parameters of the assignment have been met
  • Cohesiveness
    • Logical
    • Whether or not the arguments or examples are relevant to the topic
    • Organized

   

• The Whole Truth
  • Completeness
    • Whether everything relevant that could be said has been said

     

• Nothing But the Truth
  • Conciseness
    • Whether there is useless prose (words), irrelevant material presented or redundancies of material

     

• Told Well
  • Clarity
    • Whether the presentation is clear and understandable
    • No need for additional information
  • Concreteness
    • Whether abstract concepts are grounded in specific concrete examples
  • Creativity
    • Imagination and innovation in presentation and substance
